Lauren Publications
 Lauren Publications publishes parenting magazines for the Dallas/Fort Worth, and North Texas areas. Their titles have become some of the premier publications in the industry, but they had not been able to invest the same care to their web site. The site was difficult to use, and rife with errors. They asked Web Site Optimizers to help them design a new web site that was worthy of their quality, and would allow them to engage their customer base.
WSO’s custom web site development team sprang into action. Through timely but comprehensive discussion, we identified all the key requirements. Our design team put together an appealing look that matched the themes of the magazines. We met with the editors to understand what worked and what was difficult with the old system, so that content could easily be added to the site by the editors themselves. We developed entirely new applications for the site, such as a calendar of upcoming area events, contests, online polls, printable coupons, and more.

Indeed, the improvements have been phenomenal. In less than a year since the launch, traffic to the site has nearly tripled from that to the old site. Reader participation is also in evidence, with thousands of readers registering with the site each month to participate in contests, sign up for newletters, etc.
Perhaps the top reward came in March, 2007, when the DallasChild.com site won the Silver Medal for Web Site General Excellence from the Parenting Publications of America (PPA). The site also claimed Bronze Medals for Web Site Design and Web Site Content.
“The new web site has been a success all around,” says Bill Schroeder, Director of Sales & Marketing. “It’s engaged readers and won awards, but it’s also contributing to our bottom line. Ad space on the site is valuable, and we’re now able to automate many administrative functions such as taking registrations for upcoming events and more.
